I appreciate simple classic looks and styles and this Cloos interpretation looked intriguing to investigate. I already owned the similarly styled RayBan's that spawned a thousand knock offs and copy cat designs so was skeptical that this model would even favorably compare. They arrived and have been worn for a week and I can truthfully say that they are now my go-to glasses even more functional than my Raybans for at least one reason. The fit and finish are first rate, though I am in the camp that is infuriated that a piece of plastic with hinges should ever command such high prices. and in honesty, there is no real reason they should. That being acknowledged, these are comparable to Raybans in most ways. The reason I'll be favoring them is simply due to the darker hue of the lenses. I find that in a strong sunlight, especially while driving, I'm actually squinting even with my Raybans on. These are several shades darker so offer much better sun blocking utility. Of course, as evening approaches or if you wind up wearing them inside, then the extra darkness becomes a bit too much. But for what they are intend, protecting you in bright sunlight as well as hopefully looking stylish, these check all the boxes. I like the lack of any ostentatious branding as well. Some people might want to be seen with a recognized and pricier brand with the names scribbled boldly on the lenses, I like the understated design and lack of branding. I'm surprising my price conscious self and recommending these especially if you're cross shopping expensive designer and name brands.
