came yesterday tried this morning in house felt ok tried with thicker sock noticed the right boot toe like gouges as shown in pics beyond . another trip to the post thought i'd try a replacement pair picture 2 and four , after trying to explain i would try them as i need boots i have waxed them to cover the lost wax on them hopefully i can get out and test them i do hope thay come up to scratch [ definitely no pun intended ]amazon take note. by the way you will be sent ravine not summit that's what i got anyway . so this review is for ravine . wore today all i did was put the left insole back into position it was half way up my heel , hard on the sole . self-cleaning sole i don't think so, also wet with sweat . will give another go but ?. insole moved again put my own good ones in thickish they stayed put, but again feet felt like walking barefoot on tarmac . still damp would have use every few of days for them to dry out i suppose [ they will ] one good thing they're not as slippery as vibram soles. tried with original insole's again they moved again took 2 other pair of regatta ones they also moved had to walk without insoles good jod it was down the sand dunes most of the walk also one of the laces has frayed oh and they are still damp post office here i come againThese are excellent quality boots.I am a size 9 but decided after reading Amazon reviews I decided to order size 10. Unfortunately they were still too small so I am having to return then. Disappointingly the only return method available is via Hermes and you need a printer for the return label - I dont have a printer so now have to faff about getting it printed somewhere. I have ordered size 11 and will see how they are.UPDATE: Size 11's arrived and are a perfect fit!Ordered these boots after reading a ton of different reviews as I needed some proper water proof walking boots. Feel great out of the box. I am a size 9 in converse and after to speaking to someone online I was told if I wasn’t sure to go a size up. Glad I did as I think a 9 would be to small with decent socks on.Very light and awesome at keeping the water out and keeping my feet warm. I don’t think I’ll be using them in the summer though as they are very warm boots so will need a lightweight summer boot but definitely recommend these for wet winter days.Best boots I've ever had, extremely comfortable and didn't take long to break them in. I'm prone to blisters and had to get some new boots for my D of E since the last ones I had required me to bring a case full of blister plasters. I bought the same amount expecting the worst and only had to use one or two which for a pair of brand new leather boots is astonishing. I've used them for almost a year since then and they are currently the only shoes I own that I can walk further than 5km in without blisters. On top of that the ankle support is great as well as the tread, the laces are robust as are the eyelets. Definitely recommendedVery comfortable right from the start. Hi-Tec boots are built for the English foot and are more generous in width than most other makes. I have not used them in very wet conditions yet, so cannot comment on their waterproofing, but this is the third pair of Hi-Tec boots I have had and the others (Altitude V-Lites) have been very good for about a year, which is, frankly, all you can expect from a pair of boots which are, literally, worn every day of the year in all conditions. The 2.2cm leather will, hopefully, mean that they are durable. The build quality seems excellent.
