UPDATE: I rated these initially 5 stars based on look, fit, and feel. Now after wearing them a few times, I would rate them 3 stars. The fabric of the shorts is a cheap(ish) polyester which after washing holds static and sticks to the liner shorts underneath and rides up the leg. It looks ugly and is annoying on the trail.Light, but durable material. Not too many pockets. Adjustable waistband. The shorts are styled narrow and long, same as in the picture. I am 6'2" and these come well under the knee when upright. They don't necessarily look like bike shorts. They could pass for swim shorts or even casual everyday shorts. The only unusual feature about them is a big, clunky, shiny metal button in the front. Typically sports shorts have a clip button or velcro or some other fancier way to close. These have an old-school metal button which also happens to be XXL size. The quality of these shorts is great. The material is nice and the pad is comfortable. They are showing no signs of wear even after a few accidental "impacts".But, I don't like the length of these shorts. I have about a 32" inseam and they fit me just like the guy in the photo. This leaves the cuff of the shorts right at my knee and I don't like the feeling of the fabric brushing against the back of my knee. The next pair of short I get will have a slightly shorter inseam. The length of the short is good, but the material is too thin for my taste. Being that it is 100% polyester, there it feels like you are wearing a pajamas for shorts. I prefer something a little more beefy for MTB riding. The Pearl Izumi Launch shorts are a much better buy in my opinion. Tough shorts, the same length, and made a lot better. How do you go wrong with Pearl Izumi? You just can't. I like the front zipped pockets and waist elastics. The pockets hold my phone well and I can hear my music playing:) I've never had a zipper open unexpectedly, the liner short seems to be build heavier than my last shorts. It's not often quality goes up, but it did.I ordered a medium and the the shorts are past my knees and the liner is small. I'm 5'8" 175. I also somehow developed a snag in the shorts within 5 rides, which tore the fabric. Maybe just bad luck on the tear, but I will be choosing a different set-up for my next purchase.Bought these for my avid mountain biker husband, so he could not be embarrassed to come into town after a bike ride. They fit him perfectly, and he liked them so much we ordered several more pairs. They are holding up amazingly well, and he beats his clothes up, believe me.Worth money because you are really getting 2 pair of shorts. The liner can be worn alone as well can be the shorts. They both dry very quickly and are comfortable.Brilliant mtb shorts. Cooling, doesn't soak after long ride. Shorts does not get entangled with saddle when changing body position. Will not look at other shorts.
