2nd pair of these boots after getting the olive green one. They're easily my favorite pair of boots I have (and I have a lot). I've had the green pair for 3 years now and I still wear them weekly. Long lasting, they've gone through Norwegian woods and the deep snows of northern Sweden, to the backroads of the Netherlands. I've ever only had 2 issues. Both user errors one could say. I have a motorcycle and love riding with these boots. But shifting gears has rubbed the material down on left foot. Its worn and slightly discolored but after 3 years of continuous use thats ok. 2nd issue is with the newer brown pair. I used the felt loop in the back to help pull my foot into the boot and the bottom part of the loop got ripped off. The buttons are still in place but the felt is stretched. Again partially user error and unnecessary finger strength. Ok this feels long. Amazing boots. Get them. Treat them kindly. It is important to know your size and know your shoe type. My size is 10 1/12 EEE but where wide shoes aren't available 12 M is what fits me. Most all of my shoes are 12M. That being said these boots are designed to fit a little larger. WHAT?! Larger! Thats Preposterous!! No. These are waterproof winter boots. The design accommodates for thicker socks. The fit as is has plenty of wiggle room in the toes which is vital to warm toes. It allows circulation. The bridge of the boot fits just a little bigger than snug. This is perfect. A good leather like these will conform to your foot. So with thick socks the first few outings will be a little snug as the leather gives and forms around your foot. If you don't need or intend to wear thicker socks drop a half size on your normal athletic shoe size. They are very sturdy and like most Sorel boots very light. Will be comfortable for days while you wait for the search and rescue team to find you in the woods. Light a small fire the smoke will help. But dont worry about wet frostbitten toes these should do the trick. Unless its -36 of course. The only thing that I dislike is that these are no longer made. These are my first pair of boots. I purchased them for walking to work in the cold rain and snow of the Northeast US. So far they have not disappointed. Traction seems great, they are warm despite having only thin insulation, and there is room in the toe area for thicker socks when it gets really cold. Similar to other reviews, these boots run surprisingly large. I normally wear a size 9-9.5. I originally ordered an 8.5 in these but they were still too big. I ended up with a size 8, and there is still plenty of room, as I said, for thick winter socks. Hopefully I remember to update this after the winter for durability and how they stand up to the cold.Love the fit and style of these, seriously - they’re immediately comfortable without any break-in time, not stiff at all. They’re my go-to hiking boots now which was unexpected - I live in the Pacific Northwest and ride a motorcycle - so the waterproof feature was pretty important, howeverrrrrr, after only a few wears in some serious rain/puddle jumping I found the top of my foot a litttle wet which I wasn’t too happy about. That being said, even though I’ve only had them for a couple of months, I’m happy to apply some waterproof agents to them because I actually love the fit and style that much.Promptly wore these on a two-day mountain hike after purchasing them. It alternated between rain, sleet, and snow for part of my hike and the temperature ranged from under freezing to nearly 60 F. While much of my other gear was found wanting, these boots were a joy throughout. They kept my feet comfortable, protected, warm, and dry with ease. Since that trip, I've frequently worn them on rainy days during my commute and will absolutely continue to do so on snowy days. They exceeded my expectations in every regard. The fit isexcellent. They are roomy enough inside that I can easily wear bulky winter socks but they can be cinched up with lighter socks for warmer, rainy days. While they are sizable boots, I find them to be very light and manageable. If I had to mention a complaint, it would be that they don't provide the best traction on especially flat and slippery surfaces.I loved these from the day I tried them on. They feel like slippers. From what I can tell, they really are waterproof. I ordered some mink oil to keep them that way. I ordered US Size 11 and they really are size 11, so There is room for a warm pair of socks. They aren't insulated so they aren't intended for tromping through the snow for hours. For walking to the car and back in slushy weather, they're perfect.Bought this for my husband. He normally wears Adidas sneakers. He is a size 10 and I ordered a 10 for these boots and they were perfect!! He loves the boots so much that it became his go-to shoes for work. They’re versatile. It can easily work with business casual or rugged look. He has put the “water proof” feature to the test. We live in Michigan and the boots has gone through multiple snowstorms already. He said his socks stayed pretty dry. My husband is an engineer, he is definitely not sitting all day. He goes to testing labs and stands all day. Even at the office he still stands and walks a lot. The boots are lightweight and comfortable and definitely met his expectations!!I ordered these boots as I needed a pair for casual wear. I'm pleased I read reviews as they are large, I bought a size smaller than my usual size and they fit perfectly. I also got them at a good price, as we all know that amazon prices fluctuate. I don't think they are worth more than £80 so try not to pay much more than this. All in they have been comfy but could do with another insole. Also make sure you treat the leather with dubbin straight away to soften the leather, otherwise the leather will crease near the toe. I think they look great on and are designed well. Time will tell.Owned a pair of these a few years back and they were comfy, sturdy and generally really good. Ideal for light trail walks. These are not quite as good, I would call them more of a fashion boot, if you plan to put some miles in get a proper walking boot as these are not that.I would put this in the fashion category more than the serious hiking category of boots - there isn't a lot of cushioning in the heel. They were only chosen for daily use rather than walking and I think they look nice, with the fitted look around the foot and ankle, so I'm pretty pleased with them. They have been worn a fair bit straight out of the box now and nothing appears to want to unravel or unstick, so fine on the wear and tear, so far.Holding up well, had concerns after reading other reviews. Using primarily as a cold/wet weather urban boot rather than hiking boot, but completely waterprof on the 4ski days in the AlpsA bit larger than expected and a wider fit but at least i can buy thicker socks, the boot in my opinion is a walking boot (paths and trails) but not protected enough around the heel for rocky trails, a good fashionable boot that comes in funky colours, but a size smaller for the perfect fit
