I'm very familiar with the stretch Zion Fabric from their pants line. This material is water resistant, stain resistant, rip resistant. tear resistant. They might not claim it to be all of those things but from taking stretch Zion on multiple mountain hikes where knees made full contact with stone and rocks with no damage is almost unbelievable that the only wear they show is subtle color fade over the years. The jacket itself is also lined with scotch guard inner liner that is very smooth and comfortable on the skin. I'm assuming it's there to offer extra waterproofing, it also feels breathable as I don't sweat as much as I would in a full "water proof" rain jacket. The bottom pockets are fleece lined which is overlooked a lot. You can hide your hands away on cold days if you forgot gloves. The right pocket also has a secondary pocket inside the pocket. Good for storing cash if you're traveling or for an illicit activity adventurer. The inside breast pocket is spacious. Large enough for sneaking snacks into movie theaters. The sleeves have a sweater like cuff that is hidden by the outer layer of the jacket. It's extremely comfortable and keeps the sleeves in their place and provides a thermal break between the elements and the inside of the jacket. Also the most consumer friendly thing that I never even thought I would care about is that the "zipper pulls" are Velcro and can be removes if you don't like them dangling.
