Updating this review to note that after using these for many a ski day, these deserve the full 5 stars (originally 4). They are a bit thinly insulated for temperatures below 20 degrees if you are not moving a ton (I use a thin polartec base layer typically), so you should wear a warmer fleece baselayer if you run cold like i do on a relaxed resort day where you're not working too hard. But it's better to be thinly insulated than to be overly hot. These have kept me dry in powder and while skiing in storms. I typically tend to buy stuff only when it's on sale, but, if you are considering to spend 300 bucks on full priced patagonia, consider spending 100 less with these.--I purchased these a couple months back and have mostly used them for spring resort skiing thus far. They certainly feel premium to the touch. They are pretty waterproof, though if you're falling down a ton, you might feel cold since the pants are only very lightly insulated. They vents are well placed, and i can see how these being very breathable and stuff, would work well for touring. Personally, i didnt buy them at full MSRP, but it wouldn't be a bad deal if you did, since these are certainly comparable to similar offerings from small dead bird or patagonia. I am also not a tall person, and the 30 inch inseam is definitely manageable, as these cover my boots without getting in the way of my ski bindings. There's also a gaiter type thing where you can thread the power strap on your boots, but i imagine since it's more of a mesh than any solid material, it might let in some snow if you're really going hard in deep powder. All in all, would purchase again.Excellent product, perfect fit and solid qualityQuality construction good slimish fitNot as good quality as must be for this brand
