This is without a doubt the best barefoot shoe I've tried, and I've worn nothing but barefoot shoes year round for the past 12 years. Paired with Showers Pass waterproof socks, you can use Primus Trail SG's in light snow and wet conditions. I avoid using my Vivobarefoot Tracker SG boots during these conditions because they are not very breathable and result in overall wetter feet than the quick drying Primus SG's. The grip is phenomenal uphill but only good downhill because of the directionality of the lugs. My only major complaint with these shoes is the durability of the sole material. I wear them until there is no tread under the ball of my feet, and at that rate I go through about a pair a year. Also worth noting, I weigh 200 lbs and hunt, hike, and trail run year round in these shoes. At $160 a pair, I feel a bit ridiculous sometimes when I'm shopping in the "minimalist footwear" category. Merrell Trail Gloves, for example, last about two years with their much more durable Vibram soles and cost about $70. For the price point, Vivobarefoot really needs to be using a better rubber supplier. Despite all this, I'll probably keep getting these shoes because they are that much better overall than the competition.
