The deep Vibram soles prevent my ability to slide my foot over the pegs when shifting. The teeth in the pegs lock into the groves in the boots making it necessary to lift the boot up and reposition it (instead of just sliding it) every time I shift. In my opinion, offroad riding boots should not have such aggressive soles. My bad for not noticing when I ordered them. Having said that, I still like the boots. I may end up filling part of the left boot sole with "Shoe Goo" as a work around.
