I was an early adopter of the Airblaster ninja suit. I've been wearing one since year one. I'm talking K2 Travis Parker, DC Mountain Lab, Robot Food days. It's served me well but I really wanted to try their new Woolverino fabric. I like wool and I like tencel, so a fabric that combines the two sounds extra appealing to me! I also wanted to see if the updated waist zip for #2 access would be an upgrade...Here are my thoughts...They have more sizes now, so the new size small doesn't match my old size small. I'm 5'8 and I bought a small even though I fall into the medium range (because it was the only size on sale!) and it fits much tighter than the old suit. Not uncomfortable, just snug and fitted. The spandex content really makes it stretchy and forgiving. The woolverino fabric however, is not very soft and is actually a little itchy as some other reviewers have mentioned. The waist zip for #2 relief seem to make sense on paper, but IRL (in real life) it prevents you from seeing what's going on down there. Just in case you are forced to drop one in a nasty public toilet, you want to make sure you are landing in the right spot as you sit down. The original version had two-way zippers going from front to back and directly underneath your private bits so they split sideways. It didn't do wonders for the aesthetic of the suit and it was a bit frightening to zip anything that close to your boys but it worked! So the new design turned out to be a disappointment for me.Fortunately, the multi-piece hood is still the same as the old (which has since been duplicated and imitated by other larger name brands) which is one of my favorite part of the suit. So, all in all. It's a good purchase but they can improve a couple of things on it. Nevertheless, it's still the best one piece base layer in the business. If you would like the suit to fit a little more snug, then I would recommend selecting a size smaller than your normal size. But this is a great product. Very warm and comfortable. Can be worn anywhere...seriously, perfect suit to wear under jeans and button up, you are all set to go out.For the price, the material is not very durable. 3 months into using the suit 15 days per month, the crotch has formed holes from rubbing when walking. I have other wool tights that have lasted for a year and a half before this happened. I tried to email Airblaster twice about warranty info, but no reply... I'll try Amazon next.I'm a huge fan of the classic Airblaster Ninja suit. Love the fit an functionality of a onesie for skiing. I finally pulled the trigger on the Merino version, and was disappointed in the fabric. While it had the same fit and features as the classic, I just found the wool to be too itchy and will be returning it.Unfortunately it’s already falling apart after one season. Very thin material around the zippers, holes in the front. Kind of disappointed because I’d heard so many good things about airblaster.I had to return this as it the sizing was too large. I ordered according to the size chart but it was not true to size. The material was also a little rough.Does not tailor to tall people - torso and legs seemed disproportionate. Also agree with others that his material is too itchy for a base layerReally nice. Warm, breathable, odor-resistant, and just plain cool. One drawback, if you're rustic camping (as I was in 20 degree weather), and nature comes knocking at the back door, this suit doesn't allow for a wide stance. Your knees will be touching when you squat.
