Score! I love this vest. A little background if you're like me. I carry and have looked at every single carry method possible from ankle holsters to tee shirts with sewn in holster pockets, inside/outside the waist, pocket holsters, shoulder rigs. Just shoving the darned thing in my front pocket was the best except it prints like "A pistol in your pocket". All of these options were either uncomfortable, difficult to draw or insecure. I started looking into vests with gun pockets. The ones I found were biker vests with that distinctive "Klingon" look but I wanted something with a more mainstream look. Searching around I came across this vest with the big price tag and took a chance.First, the material is a heavy, denim like material. It doesn't print, seems to be stitched will, and the liner is good quality. The front has snaps as well as a zipper. So you can also close the vest with the snaps instead of the zipper as well. The front zipper also unzips from the bottom which is handy for that "tummy bulge" in a car. The vest is also longer than what I expected. If you are carrying in a waistband or appendix the vest covers your belt line. There are also double side snaps on both sides that allow a gusset for bending over since the vest is longer. The lower pockets have a snap flap over them and stitched compartments for little things like a pen, pen light, mace etc. The pockets are not real large but would store a wallet or cell phone. Behind the lower front pockets (and not visible in the picture) are 'slide in' pockets for your hands on a cold day. The upper outside pockets have vertical zippers and are deep enough and wide enough to slip in any compact handgun. I saved the best for last, the inner pistol pockets. There is one on each side, for left or right handed people (or a gun and spare mags). They are large and deep and will accommodate a full sized handgun. Stitched on the inside of the outer layer is an elastic gun holster. On the inside layer (opposite the gun) is a pad of what appears to be some kind of velcro. I'm Not sure if that is so you can add your own holster or if it is just a rub pad. In any even, these inside holster pockets swallow a 9mm compact with very little printing. Although I haven't carried a full-sized auto I'm sure it would work out fine. The best part of the pockets are that they have a single snap to close, inside a zipper. I like zippers. The last thing I want to do is remove a jacket or vest and have a gun go scattering across the floor at a restaurant. Between the elastic holster, the snap and the zipper, the firearm would be secure. If the situation would arise, the zipper could be unzipped and the gun still held relatively secure with the snap and elastic holster but available to be drawn quickly. In short, the vest is a win. The main worry I had was of course sizing. I'm 6 foot and 250, 38 inch waist, 44ish chest and your proverbial middle aged tummy. I picked an XL and it's good. I can comfortably wear the vest over a shirt and even a sweatshirt. A Large would have been too small and I'm guessing I would have been swimming in a XXL.In short, if you're looking for securely carrying a CCW without straps, bulges, printing, this is a good choice.Nice vest, fits well and very versatile. Sizing was a concern to me and I've decided to mention here: I am a 44/46 and ended up buying the XL. It fits just right overall. Others in this review section mention too large or too small. I found this to fit as expected. Length was longer than expected. It took some 'accepting' that this vest is longer than what I consider a traditional vest that stops at the waist. This one is longer, more in keeping with the length of a sports jacket. I am 5' 7" and the hem come down to to where I curl my fingers (arms straight down). At first I thought this was a "tall" but the label advises XL. Upon accepting the length, I have come to very much like this jacket and would buy again.Made in China. This is a well made vest. While I like it, it is a bit too long. Yes, the length provides good coverage, but that also creates an uncomfortable angle for the handwarmer pockets.Inside carry pocket retainer straps never seem to be at the correct angle on any product. The inside Velcro patch on this allows customization when using the appropriate holster. Either way the length of the vest covers most OWB holsters I would use.Shorten it and add an optional sherpa lining!Very heavy and bulky - good for extreme cold and wind but a little cumbersome for normal wear. However, it is well-made and should last a long time. I could have chosen large instead of extra large but in looking at the other reviews they seem to have indicated that it ran a little small. It would be very helpful if the listings would give a chest and waist measurement. How hard would that be? That would take much of the guess-work out of ordering. Overall, it is a quality product.Holster in the pocket too small will not fit my Beretta cheetah too well only good for small gun, does okay with my S&W shield. Nice looking vest doe and it least it come with the holster.5.11 modell 80001 they call it a conceal carry vest with two pockets for conceal but what they conveniently forget to mention is that you need to buy the holster for the pocket item 59002 for another 19.99.S&W is trutfull with their description. Again nice vest look great wish would fit a tilt larger gun.Not heavy duty but keeping it as it appears well made (China)...concealment, well probably continue tk use my Coronado Leather vest.Have to admit I was suprised by how fast the seller shipped. I’m Prime, it shipped from other then Amazon and was here (Jersey to rural Oregon) in aboyt 40 hours...Got to love that! The vest is too long more than it is too large. It goes well past my waist and I really don't like vests or jackets that don't end at my waist. If you are very tall or like long vests then you will like it as it is well made. I have yet to do more than try it on. Clothing really needs two ratings one for being well made and another for fit. This gets fives stars for being well made and one star for being too longWe originally purchased an XXL due to some of the reviews but should have just ordered an XL. The fit is what husband normally would purchase in most items. High quality and the look is exactly as pictured. The only drawback is that it doesn't come direct from Amazon as so many items now are sent from another authorized seller. You have to request a return from that seller and see if they approve your request, then they will send you a return form. We are waiting to see how this works out. Wish we had ordered the correct size to begin with so we wouldn't have to go through this. Much easier when you deal directly with Amazon.com.
