The leg and waist fabric has some compression to it. The material also has just a little sheen to it. The airy mesh bib fabrics sit well around my shoulders and didn't cut in or bind through the sub-4 hour effort. The leg band triple silicone dots grip very well to prevent ride-up. I used these bibs for a local metric century with a couple of steep climbs towards the start. During seated uphill efforts, the thickest part of the cushioning was in the right spots for leaning slightly forward -- forward of the sit bones, centrally beneath the crotch area--very much appreciated! Compared to the LG Corridge bibs, which focus the padding under the sit bones for a more upright [gravel] riding position, these (at a very similar weight and price point) add a strip of thicker padding forward, under the pudendal nerve, adding relief to those who tend to lean forward or who use aero bars when cycling. I wish more companies adopted this simple idea and used dense, quality cushioning in this vital area of men's bib short design.
