They finally arrived! Bought these on Dec 8 and they arrived on my doorstep on Dec 22. The size I needed was sourced overseas so some of that time was expected. But when tracking status finally showed they were in the states after sitting in a NY warehouse for 3 days (and that was after crossing the "pond" for 4 days) I was getting concerned. It took more than a week to move across the states into the Midwest where tracking finally kept up to date with actual status and they were moved to distribution centers in a timely manner (1 1/2 wks to get away from the east coast and 3 days to get across the remaining 4 states). So if you order a size that shows EU in the number expect a long wait. The boots are excellent. They are very well made and I expect them to last a long time. I really like the extra reflective lines on the outer sides of the boot to add visibility at night. They are also lighter weight than my other A* Ridge boots. It is expected that ANY boot with a waterproof liner will be warmer than a true "Air" boot with no rain liner. Even with Gore-Tex this is true with this boot.I ride every month of the year in Central Iowa so it does get really cold here sometimes (from over 100F to below zeroF). I prefer to keep to one set of riding gear that can adjust or works for all seasons. My old A* Ridge boots stopped being waterproof only 2 years after buying so are not really worn out much yet. I figured it really doesn't rain in the extreme cold... much, so these "Air" boots will work fine when temps are a bit warmer and I will need the waterproof feature of Gore-Tex. I did wear them on my ride to work today just to see how low the temps can be in these and with the temp at just below 25F they were definitely not as warm as my Ridge boots but not cold either. I am thinking I would continue to wear the Ridge boot when temps drop closer to zeroF and these when warmer than 20F. I definitely can feel air movement through the mesh and perforated leather of these boots. They were very comfortable. I can't wait for the temps to warm up to experience how much better these are with the added airflow. My bike (a Burgman 650) has very good lower leg and foot protection so that plays into it a lot. I obviously haven't tested the waterproof feature yet being just before Christmas in the upper Midwest but I have no doubt the Gore-Tex will be good for it. I have other Gore-Tex items from the military so I know it works. These boots are very comfortable right out of the box. A little stiff but still comfortable. I know they will loosen a bit with time using them. Since I already have been wearing another Alpinestars boot (the Ridge) and they fit perfectly I stayed with the same sizing for these. The fit is also perfect for my size needs. The EU sizing is as it shows on all the A* charts. The EU 46 I ordered fit same as my normal 11.5 USA size so that is accurate. I know that sizing is usually a matter of the brand. So some footwear is so much closer on tolerance when made that it seems a smaller size number is needed for the same fit with some, or a larger size is needed for others. My average is the size I ordered. Will try to remember to report back and update this review when temps become a lot warmer (hot) and maybe wetter.
