I had to return these, because although they were long enough (even perhaps 1/4" to 1/2" too long, though I ordered to size), the middle section of the shoe was so narrow - paired with a shoe opening that doesn't stretch super wide at the top - that it made it impossible to slip my foot in without either wild contortions or possibly creasing/damaging the leather of the shoe. When I say contortions I mean I was already trying to angle my foot in nearly sideways to the ground to try to see how I could get my foot in.I have a foot that's fairly well shaped like this shoe is: wide front of the foot, especially around the first big toe joint and the first little toe joint, because I have bunions. And though my foot narrows in the middle, also, the wide front part of my foot makes it so that it won't fit through that small narrowed section of the shoe.I also need to be able to insert orthotics into the shoes, and besides the trouble I had just trying to conceptualize how I'd get my own foot in, I could see from the shallow depth of the toe box that there was going to be absolutely no room for anything but my toes, IF that. (It looked like they'd be pinched/smashed down.)Anyway, my opinion is that this is kind of an awkwardly shaped shoe. I describe them as "figure 8" shaped. The narrow bit bottlenecks the shoe so much I don't know how it was designed for people who have a wide front of foot to get their feet in there. I think If you have a very flexible, shallow foot with not a lot of rise around the ankle area, you will probably be able to contort & worm your feet in.As others have said, it has a half-cushion, inside. If you can call it that. It's very thin. It's on the heel half of the shoe.To me this shoe looks as if it would offer no arch support with the included (or lack thereof) footbed. When I ordered these I kind of intended to try them on and return them. After I got them, there's no way I could return them. Especially in the Ink Suede color. They are some of the most comfortable shoes I've ever worn, and I don't know why. There's only half an insole in the heel of the shoe and the rest just seems like the same crepe material as the sole. But it just feels good to walk in them. Maybe it's the spongy crepe sole or the wide toe box. I don't know, but I'll definitely order a pair when these wear out. My only complaint, which has nothing to do with the seller, is the sizing of the shoe. I ordered a ten and a half and it was very tight around the middle of the foot (it seems like it's called the "dorsal" online?). I don't think I could have slipped into a size 10. However after wearing the shoes for awhile, they stretched out and now I would say they're just a tad too loose. Still completely comfortable, but if I could I would try to fit into a half size down so that the shoes would stretch out to a perfect fit. These shoes not only have a great, and unique look, they are extremely comfortable!I haven’t worn them much, only three days…But I know the more the leather “breaks in” through wear, the more comfortable these shoes will become! This was my first pair of Clark’s. I recently also bought a pair of their “chucka” style boots, which are also great, and very comfortable. That said, these shoes are like wearing bedroom slippers everywhere you go!Like the retro look, the fit and comfort. Getting a little expensive thoughGreat & classic shoes. Comfortable! Much longer break-in period then most guys ate probably used to due to the thick leather used. The BIG characteristic you must consider, though, is that the gum sole is at it's best on dry surfaces. Any surface that is NOT dry will be like walking on vaseline! Beware!Takes a little time to break in but super comfortable once you do. Wider than average toe box. Only complaint is that the soles turn black (which I knew would happen with this type of sole) and wear pretty easily.Neat on my feetNo surprise there. Like the shoes. It would be great if you could make them with a better finish, more attention to detail. If you will do that in the future I want another pair.Thank youI have wide feet, which is why I like clarks desert boots. I was hoping these would be the same but they are more narrow so I will be returning.Beautiful and comfortable, best fitting shoe ever.Really nice quality and comfortable on walks. Love that size 10 is always the same across Clark's lineup. Fit great.I like the style and color as expected with Clarks boots. The insole however is a little hard and slightly uncomfortable. I use thick socks for remedy. But overall, it still looks great.Love these shoes. Super comfortable and excellent quality. Fast delivery, i will be ordering more!
