It's difficult to find an equalizer for use in a home stereo, and the Rolls REQ215 is one of the very few. Thanks to an on-board power supply the REQ215 has a substantial feel to it, but the front hardware is cheap plastic. Nonetheless the controls get the job done, and the sound seems minimally invasive for my purpose: applying EQ to movie soundtracks.Unfortunately, despite having unbalanced RCA Inputs and Outputs, the REQ215 is still aimed at the pro market. The rack ears are integrated into the front panel and can't be removed. The unit arrived without any plastic feet to protect the case from a shelf. The RCAs are spaced so far apart that conventional interconnects won't work. And the front panel was misaligned so the unit wobbled, something that wouldn't be noticed in a pro rack.So while the REQ215 seems a cut above similar lower-end gear (like ART), you'll have to decide if the hassle of making it work in your system is worth it. I'm giving the REQ215 4 Stars because it has little competition. Finding a clean vintage EQ made expressly for the home might be a better choice.
