Order a half size small, even if you want to think you're a 12 get an 11.5. I was like, "half size smaller? Pfft. I'm definitely a 12." and now I've got the shoes and they are great looking but they're TOO BIG. Smooth, nice build. Slight discomfort obviously on my error in getting too large of a shoe but the soles feel nice, the look from top down looks classy enough for work and everyday use. Not a wedding shoe or, "hey take your girl to a super fancy restaurant even if your definition of super fancy is a dish more expensive than 20 dollars per person."Other things I've noticed while wearing for a week and a half while working at best buy and just everyday use through the gorgeous weather of Iowa right now. (it's not gorgeous by the way)Through the rough sleet, snow and rain, these things have taken a little bit of a beating, already noticing some small minor scuffs. Nothing too huge but I'd be a bit concerned about how long these guys could last in my neck of the woods.I'll update as soon as I get my hands on an 11.5 pair of these shoes, off to a ups place to return these just to get a different size. These shoes seem to be almost a full size larger than my normal shoe size. Also be certain of size before ordering international. Return shipping is VERY expensive at the cost of the buyer.I was a little cautions because of some of the other reviews I read, but I took a risk and these shoes are great. I've owned multiple pairs of Timberland boots and shoes and have loved them all. These are waterproof, very comfortable, and are a replacement for another pair that I wore out. These shoes would be 5 stars, but they did show a little bit of wear to the material by the inside ankle area after wearing for a few weeks. Overall they are comfortable look nice and are my daily use dress shoes.Timberland the bestI like these shoes, they look nice. One thing I can say is that I normally wear a size 12. But Timberland tends to make their shoes way bigger than other companies. So when I first bought these shoes in size 12, they were enormous and I ended up exchanging them for 11. Having worn these 11's for several weeks now, I can attest that they fit almost like a 12 in any other shoe I own. But they still feel a tad large. In the winter it's not a problem though, since I wear thermal socks in them. Also, the rubber rim - the soles that go around the toes and point outward - tend to catch and trap dirt. So on a brown shoe, the dirt becomes visible when it is trapped on these soles. Otherwise, I am enjoying the style of these shoes. The heel hurts quite a lot - not sure if I’ll be able to wear it enough to the point that it becomes comfortable. I’m disappointed Timberland stopped making the predecessor to this latest version, which had a slightly higher collar and better heel flexibility. Otherwise it’s a nice looking shoe and the size was accurate. These are the only shoes I will use for work. Often difficult to find but worth the search. Fit is excellent and being waterproof seals the deal. No other similar type shoe has the same fit, feel and is waterproof.I have been a Timberland fan for years but a little hesitant to buy shoes online. but, since I know the Timberland fit and my size in their shoes I took a change. Clean looking shoe and fits as expected. I find Timberland runs a little big. 12's are usually too small, and 13's too big in most shoes. These in 12 fit me great.I previous had a pair of these Earthkeepers and I wore them out - they were great. Extremely comfortable, waterproof and hard-wearing. I just wore the tread smooth with constant wear. However...The replacement pair are falling to bits around the top after only 18 months. Clearly the non-leather material they use to trim the edge of the foothole has been changed for something cheaper, as it is disintegrating, whereas it was fine on the old pair.I thought it was obviously too late to get a refund from Amazon, so I took this up with Timberland. They were not interested despite the fact that Timberland products carry a two year guarantee I'd always believed that Timberland products were good quality and that the firm looked after its customers. Not any more.I got in touch with Amazon, and toi my surprize they offered to exchange the shoes, which was brilliant. The replacement pair are fine.Do not buy these shoes if you value the skin on your heels! Upon first try these shoes feel exceptionally comfortable. However, after a couple of miles walking, the ridge inside the heel had worn through my socks and taken a layer of skin off each of my heels. It is the second time that I've had these shoes, so I'm a little biased. For me, the mixture of simple design, waterproofness and grip make them the perfect all year round footwear for every occasion. They are easy to keep clean and have a timeless quality which transcends fashion. The last pair have lasted me for about 4 years of constant use, finally wearing out when the grip on the soles wore through, making them let in water from below. I'm not complaining as they have lasted really well.I thoroughly recommend these shoes for the outdoorsy, all weather, around town, popping out to the shops, go to the pub type of guyThe leather finish on the tanned ones was atrocious. When they arrived I loved the fit and the shape, although was a bit suspicious that the tan colour was very light and a bit too orange. After wearing them for a while and having picked up a few scuffs, I tried to polish a trial scuff with some neutral polish and the scuff came up a horrible dark colour. I did some experimentation and came to the conclusion the finish was more like a paint job than the proper dyed leather I'd expect from Timberland, meaning any scuffs are liable to scratch off the paint and make it impossible to tidy up with some polish. Shame as they were shaped beautifully. I might be tempted to try the dark brown ones in the future, as their finish looks natural, but not until I've got over the real disappointment of the tanned ones.I experience knee problems from time to time and whilst I like smart English made shoes, for day to day wear knocking about I prefer to have something robust with some cushioning (i.e. give in the sole). These Timberlands fit the bill perfectly. They are plain and clean up OK. Good grippy some for slippery conditions. With everyday wear a pair lasts about 7 months. And it’s a rare day when I do less than 10,000 steps.
